Rosemount is a University Press Certified Institute, located in Dehradun, which offers comprehensive English and Hindi Language courses. The courses are customized to learners’ needs depending on whether they want to speak fluently in Hindi or read English novels or crack an admission test such as GRE.
Two of the most popular courses are the Hindi Speaking Course and the General English Course. Both of these courses are taught by highly-qualified and experienced teachers, who provide learners a holistic understanding and knowledge of the languages.
General English Course: This is one of the most effective courses for learners who want an overall improvement of their reading, writing, speaking and listening skills in English. The course syllabus is based on the Common European Framework for Languages: A1 A2, B1 B2, C1 C2; and is benchmarked by QAI- London. Available through the year, this course is divided into four levels: Beginner, Foundation, Pre-Intermediate and Advanced.
New learners are advised to start with the Beginner level, which smoothly introduces them to the basics of the language while broadening their understanding of English grammar. As learners progress up the levels, they learn how to write effective letters, notes and even long essays in English. With more practice they are able to understand complicated texts and express abstract ideas in the language. At the end of the course a diploma in English language is also awarded to learners.
Hindi Speaking Course: Also known as the Short Intensive Hindi Language Course, the Hindi Speaking Course, as the name suggests, stresses on improving the speaking and listening skills of learners. Lasting for 3 to 6 weeks, learners are taught with the aid of learning based activities such as role-plays, discussion, JAMs and more. The teachers guide learners on using Hindi in day to day situations so as to hone their conversational skills.
